OK, my front bench in my '65 seams to just have a thin layer od foam between the cover and the springs and if your reaching in and placing your knee in the seat it sinks to the bottom whereas the backseat has a thik pad of some sort in it. Since now my front seat has split a thread due to the sinking allowed, where can I get one of the thick pads that should have been put in there by the previous owner when he had the seats re covered.
THANKS!!!

Good question as I've decided to keep the bench in my 'Liner and it has the same problem. I was thinking about trying the obvious places like fabric or upholstery shops. BTW, where are you in KY? I'm in Lex.

I'm down in London. I wanted an opinion from the masses before going to an upholstry shop in which they would have to order it anyways and inflate there prices.

Cool, I'm in London once a week with my job. Also, I was born in Clay County and also used to live in Keavy when I worked in Corbin. I'm gonna search the net for upholstery suppliers, see what I can find.

I believe Dearborn has the seat pads but not positive. I know they have them for the 64s. Might give them a shot and see what they have.

Thanks, Deb. I'll dig out the catalog as their website is about useless unless you already know a part number. Now, if I knew the part number, what the heck would I need with the web site???

Let me know if you find anything in the catalog. Nothing found in the website search.

You got that right! I hate when you have to have a part number to find a part. Sometimes I like to just browse and look at the goodies. I did a search using 'seat' and found seat stuff but would be easier looking at the catalog with the pretty pictures. I think if the bench is like the rear seat, there isn't any like form shaped pad for them. At least it's that way with my 64 for the rear seat. They don't have them yet but just a flat peice of foam with rounded corners beats the knees on the springs. My front buckets, mostly only the driver side, is splitting in the middle because of lack of pad left. When I had the seats all apart except the covers I should have just taken that loose too and stuffed a scrap of foam in there for the time being but I didn't.
One thing to look at is, if you let one rip, it don't ruin seat, but guess if it was powerful enough it *could* damage the remaining foam and the carpet. Sorry, couldn't resist that one!!
