What wheels will fit???

FWIW I have the t-bird spindles on my '67 Galaxie and I'm using '80's Dodge cop car rims 15x7, with 235x60's on the front. They clear the control arm & ball joint just fine. I forgot the back spacing though, the car is at a friends house as I'm stripping another car in my 'space challenged' garage. I have heard the t-bird spindles stick out the wheel a little more then the original '67's. Measured the track and sure enough it's an inch wider then stock and the rears (same spec as the front). I also cut one full coil from the springs. Only at full lock while going over a good size bump I get a little rubbing of the tread to one of the inner to outer fender bolts.
My '67 Ranch Wagon with stock rims,15x6 and 235x70's with the the car jacked up and the front suspension at full droop the raised letters just skim the upper control arm.

What wheels will fit???

This is all good info. Looks like I will probably go with 15X7's on the front and 15X8's on the back, with backspcing around 4". I will likely measure first to make sure those will fit. What does everyone think about 16's, 17's or even 18's??? I was maybe thinking about going with the bigger rims.

You'd better watch those back ones with 4" backspace. It may rub the fender lip, depending upon the width of your tires...I'm running 17x7ft, 17x8 rear, Boyd Coddington Smoothies.

I was already at Summit Racing last week and put the new mustang rims on the computer's 64 or 65 falcon or fairlane, the closest car I could get, it didn't look that bad but it wasn't really all that catchy- but the computer doesn't do to much justice either way.

I run 15x8, 4.5" b.s., rims on the rear of my '65 and the 245-60-15 tires barely clear the wheel well, but the 66's have more toom in the rear because of the different rear quarter panel, so 4.0 b.s. may be OK. Measure everything twice before you buy anything.

Tirerack.com has detailed listings of the dimensions of tires, just pick the size you're using and do the math to see if it will clear. This method worked for me and it cleared by just what I had figured.

Also--be sure to measure both sides for clearance. My car was different by 1/2 inch side-to-side and it has virgin quarters.
