It wasn't mentioned or obvious...but do your valve covers have baffels under the breather? Or if it had them, did you remove them?

Oil can be thrown off the rocker arms, especially at higher rpm and will find any path to the outside that is available. Buildup of a pressure differential from internal mechanical sources is probably the cause, as you suggest...but its always good to ask about the basics too.

Running a hose from the PCV valve to either the Carb or the exhaust may introduce a vacuum to pull off some of the pressure, as well as provide a path to burn off what does get through. But, check on those baffels too!

I purchased the 4" tall valve covers from Ford Motor Sports to accomodate the roller rockers, the baffles and simple plates that screw in under the breather cap holes, today I ordered a quality cap with a pcv hole, as I went to my local speed shop and all they had was cheap ugly crap but purchased it to make do till the good one from summit arrives, the pcv system stopped the oil slinging, but the cheap cap is not well constructed and has a leak bottom side a small drip after I got home from a test flight with herwhat truly makes me angery is I had the engine compartment so clean one could not find dirt or oil any place and freshly painted now I may need pull the engine to give it a good cleaning, next time when I say to my self "they do not need a pvc system" I'll remember they do

I know the feeling. I got my engine in and then before I knew it, I was swapping carbs, cleaning off fire extinguisher powder and removing intakes, now I have a few scuffs and chips on top of some greasy handprints. A little touchup here and there and that's it for me. Burnt myself out on that painting. When the valve covers start chipping and looking nasty I'll just put my ugly chrome covers back on there and forget it. I have pics to show it did look nice at one time at least.

Oil out of the breathers is common on the FE. Take off the offending valve cover and fabricate a new sheet metal baffle that covers the PCV hole a little better. My M/T valve covers came with baffles, but to keep the oil from coming out, I made my own baffles out of sheet metal. Took about 15 minutes. Just make sure the new baffles don't have much air space between the baffle and the bottom of the valve cover. If you do this, you won't be bothered by the oil anymore.

Run a PCV, odds are it will be fine. Without one, no matter how many vents you run, its still up to the motor to push the blowby out. With a PCV, it SUCKS it out as vacuum builds. No reason not to run one. If it still does it after a PCV, you have too much blowby and need a rebuild. A PCV is a wonderful thing though, my guess is it will be fine.
