68 Galaxy C6 Trannny Kickdown

I have a 68 Galaxy 500 Convertible with a C6 Auto. I am currently installing an edelbrock carb. I am runnin into a significant problem. After installing the eddelbrock adapter kit for the Automatic Kick down for the fords, the stock throttle cable mounting bracket (that bolts to the intake manifold) is not pushing the throttle cable out far enouch to clear and attach to the throttle linkage on the carb. Lokar has a throttle cable kit. But in looking at it it appears that it may not clear the stock tranny kickdown linkage. Has anyone dealt with this situation before? I have pictures if this helps?

I have one on my 68 with a 460/c6 and a holley 750.I am not sure what the kickdown rod I am using is off of but I had to tweat it some to fit.Anyway the lokar throttle cable fits good and clears the kickdown rod with no problem.I will pass a tip along to anyone installing a lokar - triple check that the gas pedal and cable are set correctly and the pedal has the travel it needs before you cut it to lenght.Yes I f'ed up my first one and a replacement cable was a few bucks less than the whole damn thing the first time around.

For what it's worth, I bought the adapter kit for the kick-down from Edelbrock when I installed the 4bbl carb on the 390 in my '67 Gal. Worked just fine.

Here are a couple of pictures that I had of the carb install. Not the perfect angles, but hopefully it'll help steer you in the right direction:
