intermittent wiper switch???

Hey,

I am new and finally found an interesting forum about Galaxies...

I thought I was so smart and bought a intermittent wiper switch from ebay and thought I could upgrade my wipers with it.

It is the right switch for that year (it looks like) but the plugs are different. Now I got the lesson, it is not just plug and play.

Does anybody what else needs to be changed?

thanks a lot, I know it might be a stupid question...

PS: I have a 1970 Ford LTD

Hmmm, not too sure but you might have to change the wiper motor also to one compatible with intermittant wipers. That's just a guess, someone else might know for sure. I'm just thinking that since the wiring plugged into the wiper motor got to the switch that both would have to be the same 'system'.

The switch is only part of the intermittent wiper system. There is a relay box under the dash. Usually in an area behind the wiper switch. You need the box and switch for a complete system. The relay box plugs into the existing wire connector and the switch will plug into the relay box. No cutting or splicing required.

Hope this helps.

Macs might have them. Might even try a local parts place as Napa had the headlight switch for my 64.
