How 2 adjust manual trans shift rods on \'63 column shift?
With the tranny in neutral, look at the collars (with the shift arms attached to them) inside the column, there is a slot in the upper and lower collars, these should be aligned with each other and the selector pin which protrudes fron the center of the column should be right between the collars- no closer to one slot than the other. Loosen the bolts on the linkage adjustment till the pin is aligned as described above and retighten the adjustment bolts. You might have to have someone sit in the car to hold the shifter in the correct position while you make the adjustments. The Ford service manual shows a good picture of this.
