Gas tank sealer question
Any good sealer will work, but you first need to clean it. I drop about 50 nuts and bolts it the tank and shake it around until your arms start to get numb, this will knock anything loose. I then pour about a gallon of laquer thimmer in to clean any remaining gas or tarnish residue. I rinse it well with water and then pour some muriatic acid in to get any rust out. I then rinse again, and let it dry. At this point you can fix any pinholes with JB Weld. It is now ready to be sealed, I use a sealer I get at a radiator shop called Red Top Sealer. It works better that anything I have ever used. It will take a day or two, but it will save you some money and the results are well worth it. I have restored dozens of tanks this way.
