Put this in the classifieds and you'll get more looks and might find one.
Also maybe call some junkyards.

I dont think there is a special C-6 crossmember as when I put a 66 390 along with a 67 C-6 in my 65 I had to move the crossmember back a couple of inches by using 1/4 inch steel plate drilled with two holes,if I can remember correctly the 66 C-6 trans is different then the 67 and up. From what I found out by looking at my 65 and the 67 parts car is the parts of the frame where the crossmember bolts on is longer on the 67 then on the 65 or 66 frame and they are welded to the frame but could be changed if you can weld. If you are putting in a 67 and up C-6 there is probably no crossmember that will work, you will have to modify your original or do what I did and make two plates and move the crossmember back as the 67 and up C-6s are longer then the cruiseamatics or find a 66 C-6 that I was told was a one year trans that still had the goofy shift pattern as the 66 and back trans.

There is the 66 that has the goofy shift pattern and it's also longer than the cruiso, or at least the one I was under was. Don't know if it was C6 but it was stock whatever it was. Didn't look that close. That might be the answer though.

Hey, I like the goofy shift pattern. One of these days I'll have one back in my 64. It isn't the kind of tranny you would want in a hotrod where you need the traditional 3-2-1 shift pattern though. I guess I like it cause it's different.

I don't know what the crossover mounting rails look like on pre-67's, but I remember swapping from an FX Cruise-O to a C-6, and asking what crossmember I needed because the C-6 was longer... and everybody thought I was an idiot (read: no one replied). Here, all I had to do was turn the crossmember 180° - the cross isn't perfectly straight, it's slightly U-shaped, enough to work between a C-6 and a Cruise-O. Give that a shot first!

I wish I would of thought of that when I put the C-6 in my 65 but the emergency brake cable goes through the crossmember on a 65 and possibly a 66 and I did not want to mess with them so I made some plates a moved it back a couple of inches. The crossmember mounting rails are longer on the 67 and up to make up for the longer C-6,I measured the 67 parts car and my 65. On the 67 the emergency brake cable did not go through the crossmember like it did on my 65,the cable came through the frame and I would of liked to use that system on my 65 but I did not want to drill holes in the frame.

The only thing im missing is the trans mount and i guess my crossmember but im gonna try and flip it around. I am also pretty sure i have to get a driveshaft, but im not sure. Thanks agian for the info, Mike

When I went from the cruiseamatic to the C-6 in my 65 I had to use a shorter driveshaft which I had one from the 67 parts car,my 65 had smaller U joints then the 67 so I had to use the yoke off the 67 rearend as I did not want to use one of those two size U joints in case of repairs on the road.
