Silly question for you and any other 65 owners out there-

how far did you get into it before noticing the "HI" stamped in the firewall? I never noticed it until the day after I pulled the body off, happened to look out the back door and had to do a doubletake... Do you think it was REALLY structural, or somebody at ford was having fun that day...at least it wasnt a big bowtie shape

Same Hi on my '67 and I believe my '68 has it too (my '68 is an AC car so harder to see). I figgure it musta been someone having fun, and the structural benefit can't hurt.

It's funny you mentioned that! All worked stopped for a second when we finally figured it out. We had a good chuckle.

The sweet smell of progress............... Or is it paint?

I'm feelin' pretty good right about now. My next pic (in a few days) will be of the suspension pieces cleaned up ready for install. (upper and lower CA's) My next project is to clean up the strut rods and the sway bar and get them painted.

I want to get the front end back on asap.

Nice work, what do you like better, the Cobra or the Merc? I have a Lightning, I did test drive a Marauder and was really tempted.

90% of the time the Merc.! I personally liked my 01 Cobra better then the 04 though. Don't get me wrong, Mashing the peddle in the 04 Cobra is something else.

Thanks for all the kind words guys/gal

Well I hit a bump in the road.

We are doing the brake swap for sure. I am on a mission to find 77-79 Tbird, Cougar, LTD2 front spindles!!

It looks like it will be a minute or two before the front suspension goes on.

Here is a list of what parts need to be finished yet.

1-Rad. core support.
2-Both inner tubs (One had a big patch panel replace under the battery tray) need a 3x3 section replaced at the tops.
3-Hood hinges need cleaning. (And a trip to TSC for some springs)
Engine frame mounts need to be cleaned and painted.
4-Finish up that stinkin' firewall!!!
5-clean and paint the spindles for the front brakes when we get them.

Man there is alot to do.................... I think it will be a miracle to get her running this year!

But Im not giving up the fight!
