Oh I am.
I got some more work on the firewall done today. I have all the wires either removed or pushed in. The only thing sticking out of the firewall is the accel. cable. I managed to get the bottom half all cleaned and primered and most of the top half. I pulled the wiper motor out to clean it up and two bolts broke .....

I have the cowl and wipers off so I can clean that area up too. I have the underhood heater box off and I have that all cleaned up for the most part. I do not know how much further I will go with it. My Dad does not want to paint it. So if we can get away with it there won't be any paint on it.

Man this is fun!

I only broke one of mine, but two were pretty much stuck...drilled/tapped it out but couldnt find replacement bolt- those tapered/integral starwashered/hexheaded screws are a wee bit hard to find. Still got one panheaded screw in there.
Could you still read the date code on your wiper motor? mine was "mar 16 1965", couldnt believe the stamp stayed under al that grime/still readable after cleaning(musta used at least 4 gallons of 'Fantastik' cleaning stuff up...)

Well, I have no date on my wiper motor.

This week has been a VERY good week.
I have to go and pick up my front disc spindles this weekend.
I picked up a brake distrbution block (10 bucks) off a 77 Lincoln (yes with drum brake out back )
And the washer, nut and castle cap for the nut and washer and hub cap all to hold the rotor on. (for a buck!! Yeah one dollar!)

This weekend's task is to get the bushings and ball joints in the upper/lower control arms. also get the spindles cleaned and painted.

Ladies and gentlemen, I just MAY have her sitting back on the ground come this time next week! WAY ahead of schedule!

Well we had picked up our disc spindles yesterday!

I started cleaning them last night. I am wondering what is the best master cylinder to use for a swap on a 65 Galaxie>? Anyone care to chime in?
We thought long and hard about going with boosted brakes. We have chose not to do it. To many other things to worry about.

OK, Now I know nobody cares about me.. Not one single reply.... Must be everyone has as awesome weather as we are having in Michigan right now!

Now I know this thread is useless without pics! So here we go!

As you can see. This stuff is ready to go on!

Anyone have a opinion on what master cylinder we should use?

When we did the disc swap on my step-dad's '66, we used everything from a '77 Cougar (spindles, prop valve, etc) and a manual drum brake M/C from a '67 and have had no issues.

If you want power, you could try to find a '65 - up with power brakes and just use a later model disc M/C and modify the push rod to work.

Just my 2 cents...

BTW, nice work

We have the spindles from a 77 Bird, I pulled the prop valve off a 76 Lincoln Mark. We will use a 67 Master as well. I thank you for chiming in on this. I had first thought of using a MC for a 76 Lincoln due to the lines exiting on the engine side. Are the 67 MC's exit on that side?

BTW, Thanks for the very kind words! You too Scott!

Dad is VERY pleased with how everythign is going.
