Thanks a bunch Cooch.

And thanks again for the helpful tip with the o-ring. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

We got the carb back on and she is running again! She starts easier and runs a lot more sound. We FINALLY have the vacuum line hooked up on the trans now, So hopefully she will shift a little more appropriate. We will need to take it to the trans shop to get the kickdown lever fixed. All in time.

Re: :edited: Wildo's 65 Gal. progress thread...

Yesterday, We installed some Autometer gauges. After we finished the water and oil gauges we chose to fire her up and check for leaks.

There was a leak under the hood but we expected this, We had another oil pres. gauge that leaked at the engine side no matter what we did before. So Dad decided to not tighten it all the way so the fitting could be slowly tightened til the leak stopped. Worked perfect- UNTIL

I hit the wiper switch to see if they worked and they did, But I think something terrible happened to the MSD ignition. She shut of clean, Just straight died. So I guess there was a spike or something weird or just a cowinkYdink I dunno.

But the ignition is totally serperate form the wipers.... Time to troubleshoot.

Re: :edited: Wildo's 65 Gal. progress thread...

Am I thinking of someone else or was it wildo that was talking about selling quite some time back? Couldn't be him! If he pops in and gives us a report maybe we can get this moved.

We need more input wildo or is that updated input?

Deb

Cool Re: :edited: Wildo's 65 Gal. progress thread...

Wow!

I have been working my tail off. And Pop has been too. We pretty much have not had anytime to work on her for a LONG time. Im currently looking into building my own garage here soon.

Deb, Here is your update.

She still needs the interior done. My uncle has a 65 Gal as well (original owner even) and is needing to look at our window tracks due to his frame off resto of his ride. So I guess its a good thing that we dont have the interior done yet. Our car needs a new flexplate BAD due to the problems Chris Kelly pointed out to me many moons ago (157toothed C4 with a 351c and stock big starter is a bad thing). She needs some paint touch up's still too. So I am hoping this garage thing works out. It will benefit my family greatly. And the Gal too. (she is currently sitting in my buddy's polebarn still)

We did not get much done last year either really due to another short term project I had, So Im starting to get the itch again.

I would prefer this to be a stickie for 65 owners honestly. If I get back into working on the Gal this year as I am seriously wanting too (Im working some serious hours!) .I will resubscribe to be the helping hand that I once was.

Re: :edited: Wildo's 65 Gal. progress thread...

The shotrod spent many moons in a pole barn. Not in one place but moved around according to what other vehicles had to be placed in there.

Happy to hear you're still out there kickin around and a garage would definitely be a big help! On the interior not done and pops needing to look at yours, there's an example of "things happen for a reason"? Even if it was a while before that reason came about. Hey, must be something unknown holding things up besides work.

We'll still be here when you are finally able to get restarted.

You have a PM.

Deb
