Here's the new gauge cluster

>Did you re-paint the plastic? It looks really clean also.

If you mean the pods, it's pot metal. I stripped it with some Aircraft stripper and primed and painted it.

For anyone interested, I think the guy who made the billet aluminum insert for the small gauges has quit doing it for the time being at least.
(It was Boese Engineering.)

Take the time and make your own piece. Use the plastic speedo lenes as the template for a piece of oak-tag. Lay that into the cluster and mark the inside line. Then it's rule time and a good compass to mark the holes. They can be real close as mine was, just make sure you allow for the OD of the gauge bezels. The pods I milled on my drill press as I still don't have enough room for a real mill. And the only way that would happen is to find another girl friend with a bigger garage and I'm not looking any more
If you remove about 3/8" off the face of the pods then you see that being die cast there is an outer and inner casting. plunge mill out the inner surrports and you can get the larger sized gauge in and the OD of the bezel is about the same as the pod. Being die cast and soft this all could be done by hand. Watch ebay for an extra cluster and get creative.

Here's the new gauge cluster

When I first saw this cluster idea about a year ago, I came REALLY close to transplanting a 64 dash into my 60 just so I could use it. Looks great.

It's not a new idea by any means. I heard years ago Holman Moody made a replacement cluster for the 64s. I spent a year just trying to see a photo of one. I still haven't seen one. Greg Cook, have you ever seen one?

Wayne,
What make/model gauges did you use?
They look a little like the old Stewart Warner Customs.

I went a slightly different route by milling out the two pods and useing 3-3/8" speedo and tach, with old eyes bigger is better. My gauges cost around $550 and so far so good.
