exhaust manifold
So, in removing the 40some year old exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold I had to use my die cutter instead of a wrench. Not really surprising giving the age, rust etc. I did a very clean job cutting the one bolt from the stud, it is clean and threads right up. The other one... not so good. It is a little banged up though it will still take a bolt okay. Is there any problem with rigging some type of a safety strap so if the vibration and heat causes the bolt to fail I won't be dragging 10 feet of exhaust system behind me?
In the near future I'll put on new exhaust manifolds but before start in cutting bolts again and drilling out studs I come here first for the a#$ saving advice I've always gotten.
