I hit the horn hard & the ring jammed on one side

I had to blast a guy who screamed past me on the right, then his lane ran out & he cut in front of me & made a left turn. I wasn't in the mood to leave him in the dust, but I could have. The chrome ring never came back on the right hand side, and the left hand side is sticking out now. Is there a trick to resetting the thing... I've tried a few times... but of course fooling with that, you keep blowing the horn.

You probably broke off one of the tabs on the plastic locking ring. To replace the ring push the center of the horn ring down and turn it counterclockwise and the whole horn ring will come off, the plastic lock ring is attached to the backside of the horn ring with 3 screws. I believe the locking rings are still available thru Ford. If not try dearborn classics or obsolete (ford) parts.
