Where is the neutral safety switch on a 67 Galaxie??

I put a new hurst shifter in my car with a c6 390 and now it wont start due to the neutral safety switch. The car used to be a column shift, but was converted and had the same model hurst shifter in it. The only difference was the new one has a newer type of switch on it. Anybody know what color wires out of the steering column are for a switch if there is one in there?

Been awhile since I did the 68 but I think they are the same.Going to the cabin for the day but I will look tonight. The stock nss/reverse light switch will be at the base of the column.

On a '67 it's midway up the column. The '67 had an excellent design neutral safety switch with a metal post/tab sticking out of the clumn activating a slider that functioned as the switch. The '68 uses a cheesy plastic thing at the base of the column. I've broken 3 on my '68 and I just gave up on it, no neutral safety switch on my car. One thing Ford really screwed up going from '67 to '68.

I have a 67 Chilton's that has a really good diagram and instructions on adjusting or rerplacing the neutral safety switches on the 67's. If you need a copy of the pages let me know and I will send along to you.

Thanks guys. I got it fixed. I started tracing wires with a logic light. The previous owner rewired the switch during the conversion from column shift to floor and the color coding was way off.
