C-6 in place of a Cruise-A-Matic on 60-64 Galaxie

Working on a 62 Galaxie and have a question regarding fitment of a C-6 in place of the Cruise-A-Matic. Will it fit without too much trouble? I have both but cracked the bellhousing on the Cruise-A-Matic removing it from the donor car. Should I just try to find another bell housing or can the C-6 be adapted without much headache???

Installing the C6 in a 62 can be done with a few modifications. You will have to use the C6 flexplate, block spacer plate and a later (65 & up) starter. The crossmember must also be relocated and then there is the linkage. It's a fairly common swap but by no means a straight bolt in. By the way Ford refered to all 3 speed automatics of this era as Cruise-o matics (FMX-C6-C4) the 2 speeds were given the name
Ford-o-matic

Did you do the swap yourself? I have a Good C-6 here at the shop but noticed things like tailshaft lenth and trans mount location. What am I in for?
