Changing out a rear end - is there anything I am forgetting ?

So i found a rear end for $100 and im gonna put it in this weekend/week.

I wanted to find out if there is anything i am forgetting about.

As far as i know its pretty simple right ?

Take off/disconnect :

Wheels
Brakes/Lines
Drive shaft
Shocks
U bolts

No major tools needed right, nothing to crazy ?

note to self : on assembly put in bigger blocks in the back and drop that ass.

Thanks

L

That's it unless there is an anti-sway bar, which may or may not need extra attention to remove.

It's really quite a quick and easy job, if it weren't for all the rusted nuts and bolts. You never know, you might get lucky in that depertment though...

You're going to alot of extra work. Why not just change the pumpkin? Unless your housing is bad.

Yeah, I wish.

the housing has these big cracks on either underside of the DIF, they leak and cannot be welded until totally clean and dry. By the time someone welds them and I pay them, i could do what im about to do.
