Time to finally put the engine back in

I am putting the 390 back in. Still running into some challenges so it will be a little while before I can fire it up.

I put my oil sender into threaded top of oil filter adaptor and it split it in two.

I tightened one exhaust manifold too tight and it broke off a tab. Hopefully, it won't leak.

No disrespect meant, but seems a lot easier to replace the exhaust log manifold now than hope it won't leak (sooner or later...it will).

the desire to get'er done seems to be over taking the quality of work you have put into the rest of the car. Log manifolds are not 'That" hard to find. Even if you have to have it cleaned and painted/coated it wouldn't delay you by that much, would it? As nice as your car is, I just can't see putting it together witha part that you already know is broken.

Now for the good stuff...Great looking engine! Now you have a bunch more Go added to the Show.

I have been working on this for 3 months so I am definitely taking my time. I painted it the color of what my wagon is going to be as it is going in that car in a year.

Those manifolds only need to last a year so I am going to see if it leaks, if so, I will replace. It is passenger side which is a lot easier then driver side to replace while it is in the car.
