disc brake swap

courious on what other guys are running on their 61-64's i currently have the 66-67 set up with the big 4 piston kelsy-hayes calipers but you can't get a wheel with enough backspacing to clear them and i have to run with spacers right now which i don't like doing. i'm doing alot of drag racing right now too so i'm going to be going with a skinnier wheel/tire combo. someone said 78 ranchero spindles work but i was courious on what else works also

thanks
rick

The common swap is the 70's mid size Ford Merc disc swap of which Rancheros are the same.Torino/Montego/Cougar/ LTDII and later 70's Tbird.

I remember reading where someone was using 78 Granada fronts. Bolt pattern may not be the same tho.

actually i did some measuring and since i do alot of drag racing with it the pizza cutters with about 2.5 in, of back spacing is going to work with the big calipers. got to borrow a friends wheel off his fairlane and it bolted right up. who knew?
