Wheel sizes for a 68...

well, i tried to search but couldnt find anything for a 68. Damn us late model owners!! ha ha. well, i was hoping to find out what some others are running here for tire sizes front and rear on their cars. i was hoping to run at least a 15x8 on the rear of my 68, but if i can get more under there i will. is it the typical for a Ford 4 1/2 inch backspacing under the front? id like at least a 275 width tire under there as well and PREFERABLY not have to roll the lip on the quarter panel.

as far as the front id like about a 245 width tire as well. it looks like it might be difficult under there though but if anyone has about the same width tire on teh front of their car, id love to know. thanks!

the car will get a set of steelies and dog dishes, but i dont really want the big and little's look. hey, its a big car man.

Wheel sizes for a 68...

http://www.fordmuscle.com/phpBB/view...44&forum=6

I run 15x8 (4-1/2 backspacing) all the way around with 255/60-15 with no issues (small spacer on front to clear the caliper) on my '67 that has similar wheel openings to the '68.
