64 Galaxie seat panel boards, what are they?

I am cruising through the Dearborn Classics catalog and noticed these seat panel boards. What are they? It has been so long since my car has been apart, and even when I got it, the interior was partially apart. They are on pg 24 of the 2005 catalog and #is spb64.

I think they might be the little panels on each side in front of your rear seat that goes from the bottom of the seat to the floor. They are the same color as your interior. I didn't know they had boards though. Mine are metal tack welded or whatever in there. But maybe convertible is dif from the hardtops and so on.

They sound like the vinyl covered pieces that go on the back floor area where it rises to meet the back seats. They did not have a molded carpet back there so it covers the floor pan with the same colour vinyl as the carpet. I just used some new black vinyl on my '64 Marauder. Stu

Thanks guys, sometimes in the catalogs there isn't much of a description and their part #'s don't reflect the originals.

Yeah! What's wrong with you! LOL I can't figure out where I put my catalog this time so had to look online and no picture.

I was kinda guessing as mine didn't have any cardboard the peices were glued to the metal. I replaced the vinyl because the old was just a tad crunchy and curled up.

As many of you know, sometimes it's hard to even go to look at an example car, because let's face it they aren't always around. I wish I had paid more attention when disassembling- story of my life!

You can buy a 4'x8' sheet of 1/8" Masonite paneling at Home Depot or Lowes and make those, for about $6.00. That is what I used for my package tray, lower seat panels and headliner sail panels. It last a lot longer also.

A 4'x8' sheet will give you enough to put behind your rear seat, to seal off the trunk area.
