trunk lid antenna

My 64 has a radio antenna in the middle of the trunk lid. Evidently, a few years back (before I bought it), someone busted it off. I removed the remaining stub from the mount. I have looked through all my catalogues and can't find a replacement anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions st to where I can find just the antenna? Or, even, where I could find the whole unit?

I plan to put in an AM/FM/CD unit and need the antenna for the AM/FM part.

The local audio shop didn't have anything and the Ford parts guy is still laughing..

I brought the sub and the antenna in to work this morning. One of our machine shop guys is going to try and drill a hole through the stub and the antenna and put a dowel in it. Then, with a bit of JB Weld in the joint, maybe I can stiffen it up a bit.

If it had been a fender antenna, no problem. But, if I take this one off, I have a big hole in my trunk lid. Not good.

I ordered new knobs for the radio. Maybe I can get at least AM this year.

That's an option. I talked to the machinist. The dowel won't work. He is going to epoxy the stub to the atenna (where it is supposed to go), then when it is dry he will drill a hole all the way through both pieces and put in a screw. That should hold it in place.

Geez, all this to get a AM radio working again...
