I'm surprised how manyy people remember Galaxies around here. You know they are sincere when they ask if the 64 was the last year they had round taillights etc. Everyone I've talked to has owned or parents had one. Alot of young kids know too, enough to call them boats.

I got a shock one day when a young guy walking through the parking lot said to me "That's a '64 isn't it". Not that many out there know them well enough that I've run into. Especially on a military base.
As for the "green hairs" learning from us, with the changes in cars today we might need to learn something from them sometime also. Many of us drive a non-ford and even if it is Ford it's way beyond many people's area of expertise when it comes to malfunctions and the warranty has expired.

Had the XL out a weekend or 2 ago and was sitting at a stoplight when a kid in a Honda or sumthin' pulled up. He ;eaned out and asked if there was a car show somewhere because he had seen alot of "old" cars out. I told him I didn't know of any, I was just out for a ride. The light turned green and as he pulled away he yelled out the window.......

That is one kick a$$ looking GTO buddy!!!!

The Galaxie is kinda like Robin in the Batman movies. You know he kicks a$$ and is dependable but he never gets the marque billing he deserves. My buddy, he owns a 68 Camaro, kept calling my Gal an Impala. Our kids are the same age so I told him that when my boy comes to pick up his daughter in high school and his shirt says "If you looking for your daughter...she's in a Galaxie far far away!" Maybe he'll figure out it's not an Impala. He told "Hey! That sh*&'s not funny!" I thought it was and he hasn't called my car an Impala since then. :^)

Experienced the same thing when we had our 1966 Malibu as now with the '65 Galaxie...we are always being approached by the younguns...19-30 year olds who are very much in awe of these old school cruisers...at one time I myself was an innocent sweet thing...ummm 17 I believe when I took my first shall we say tour of my boyfriends 1962 Impala...naturally the tour ended in the back seat at the Yakima drive-in...from those years on I have become somewhat of an expert on the headliners of muscle cars...must of been the view from where I was positioned...enough said.Marla
