Does anyone know what the letters/numbers on motor mean?
These numbers are located just left of the carb printed on the motor....
c6ae 9425-g
Does this mean it's a 425 engine? Did ford even make a 425?

YOU HAVE A RARE AND VALUABLE ENGINE!!!!!
The guys here are all pulling your leg. They're pretty notorious for this, plus some of them LOVE to misdirect newbies in hopes of maybe buying their rare cars cheap. Watch out for them, clubgoer.
The numbers you've found indicate the ultra-rare 425ci SnakeEye OHC Semi-PolyHemi. Which was unique in that the left cylinder bank was an economy arrangement for ordinary driving. Typical in-town mileage of 28mpg in the Galaxie was common when tuned properly.
The right cylinder bank is the one that comes to life when you mash down on the accelerator hard. That bank is a dual overhead cam arrangement with the "SnakeEyeSwirl" design of the chambers, which are polyhemispherical in design with popup dome pistons giving 18:1 compression. This was the first truly roller cam/roller lifters/roller valve arrangement from a manufacturer.
This engine alone commands over $250K. Do NOT let anybody talk you out of it for a mere 427 or even 427 SOHC, which is totally lame in comparison, HP- and torque-wise.
I REPEAT: YOU HAVE A RARE AND VALUABLE ENGINE!!!!
