Having body mount trouble...help 67gal

I’m putting my 67 galaxie back on its frame but I keep having trouble mounting the floor pans to the front torque boxes. Ive got the rest of the car setup but the last pair has got me stuck. All ive got is one big hole in the middle and two small holes on each side. Their use to be two nuts clipped in the big hole that held each nut into the smaller hole but when i removed them they broke, and no matter how hard I try I cant get anything to hold a nut and washer while I put a bolt through it. I can’t seem to find any replacement nut like that anywhere, and if I cant find one im most likely just going to half to drill a hole in the bottom of the frame and hold the nut by hand. Any ideas

Try one of the auto body supplier places, in this area we have a shop that sell automotive harware like nuts and bolts and they have all types of the weird bumper bolt clips and such. The 79 up Mustang/fox bodies use a type of J bolt to hold the front K-member in and on the front bumper shocks but they will be metric, they might work with another bolt.

I'll be doing the same thing later this year
I got lucky and saved 3 of the four nuts and retainers. I hope I can find new bolts

Good luck!

Fast67Ford,

Do you have access to a welder? Or know of anyone with one? Even a local shop? This is so easy a caveman can do it!

ALL you need to do is get the appropriate size nut and washer for the bolt you will use to fasten the body to the frame.

Take the nut and weld it to a flat washer (make sure its centered to the washer). Then weld a scrap piece of steel (all shown in the below picture) to the flat washer.
Take a measurement of the hole to the centerline of where the bolt will pass thru and transfer that to your newly made "clip nut" and bend a 90 in it. slide the nut thru the hole and align it to the bolt hole. Install a bolt in the nut and tighten to aid it from falling in the frame. Now take some tin snips and cut the access sheet metal and use a hammer to bend the tab down. And viola, Your ready for the body.

If you do not have access to a welder let me know. I'll see what I can do for ya.
