460 and C6 into a 1968 Galaxie

i did a search and theres lots of info out there on this swap but none really answer this question specifically. I have a 1968 galaxie with a c6 and 390 and seen that a 460 with modified 390 mounts will work but what about the transmission? most swaps i seen involve removing a stock FMX tranny or something else and using an FMX crossmember turned 180 degrees and then using an F100 6cyl. 3 speed manual tranny mount, well, do i still have to do that since my car came with a stock C6? i know that the stock tranny wont work but will the C6 for the 460 bolt in to the existing crossmember and tranny mount? does my question make sense?

In my 67 I used a shorter mount out of a 68 F100 with 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed manual tranny and then made 4 1/8in spacers to get the right height.
