A stroker will make it a lot easier to reach those power goals.
Depends on whether you want more cubes or more compression.
A 514/521/532 would make that power easily with the right heads and cam.

i think an important question would be how do you want your powerband to look/feel? I think with our somwhat heavy cars a youll probably want something with a flat toque curve, so spinning it to 7000-7500RPM probably wouldnt be optimal but really its up to you. I think the best site to ask this question would be http://www.460ford.com although i think theyre in love with stock heads over there a bit too much, personally i would rather spend $2500 on NEW Trick Flow Aluminum heads than almost $2000 reworking stock iron 40 year old stuff, JMHO.

500+ stroker, but you'll have to beef up the rest of the power train, suspension, cooling system and brakes.

I dont know about putting that much power in a convertible, thoses bodies have a tendancy to flex a bunch. Jeff
