Trunk lock cylinder to bezel plate disassembly question, 1964

Hi ya,

I brought this up in my progress thread about the trunk lock cylinder replacement. I have bought the chrome piece that the lock cylinder sits into and bought the lock cylinder. The lock cylinder and keys was # LCK-44 from Auto Krafters. The piece that goes around where you put in the key is what I want. Can I rob my old lock assembly somehow, like prying it out or are there new ones or???? I don't want to ruin the old one prying on it. Do I even have the right lock cylinder?

Fixed it, the lock cylinder that I mentioned is that of a something else, maybe a wagon??? Anyways, got the old lock cylinder from a old bezel, switched it to a new bezel so everything is AOK! Just a little update if you were wondering yourselves.

I shaved off all the trim on the trunk and use a remote release so I didn't know what the helll you were talking about anyways. :^) Glad to hear you got it covered though.

My dad did it while I was away, so I don't exactly know what happened that day, took a while from what I heard. You'd basically be better off to get a trunk lock in a bezel with a key or keys and take the cylinder out. Pushing the pin down while turning the key and lining it up. Greg Donohue sells them now, but for like 75-85 bucks.
