Any good Ford salvage yards?????

Yes I had the same experience with sunman. I sent them several emails looking for galaxie parts but no response = bad customer service.

http://www.classicford.com is in maine- if still in business...I got a hard to find 4 door LTD(small window) rear glass, and roof trim- very reasonable, and they shipped the glass UPS and it arrived INTACT...can you believe that!

they were VERY hard to get ahold of- leave messages, keep calling, but good folks. pics I saw looked like sheetmetal would be fair at best- but for glass/trim/etc, worth a shot

EDIT- looks like their gone...tried the link, and definitely a different group.

McIntyres have been gone a while. I think the ebay auctions said this past April or August would be the last of the ebay sales as well. The whole place was for sale even but don't think they got any takers for the business and all the cars went to the crusher.

Avoid Sunman if possible because they will screw you if they can. I live in the area and bought a number of items, no problem because i was there to pick it up and paid at the time. I sold them a car and because i thought of them as friends i told them that they could pay it out. they paid me about 1/3 and then wouldnt return calls or emails, and screwed me out of about $600. they dont have a store front, so you cant go camp out at their doorstep, they just wont come out till you leave. Also, the parts are all from cars that have sat out for 30+ years and quality isnt great. He is pretty high on most of his prices, so you are lucky to get a good deal on any given item. I have talked to others who have sent money and either didnt get their goods or it took months to get with lots of calls and emails, mostly ignored. Take a chance if you want.

Autokrafters got out of the used car business fall of 05. They had a huge auction, no reserve. It was amazing the stuff they had there. I got two perfect rust free doors for my Galaxie for 25 bucks each, I got a complete 9" rear axle for 65 dollars, etc. I think it was just taking up way too much space and time.
