Brake Master Cylinder upgrade

All

I have brackets on order from Scarebird for my disc brake conversion. I also want to upgrade the master cylinder from the stock "jelly jar" single reservior to a dual reservior master cylinder. At this point, I do not wish to go with power brakes - so which master cylinder is a direct swap?

Also what proportioning valve do I need for the rear drum brakes?

Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Brake Master Cylinder upgrade

There is a good article on master cylinders in this month's rod and custom magazine. It has all you need to know about all the setups. disc/drum, drum/drum,disc/disc. and all about booster, non-booster, and all the paticulars.Very Good article.

Re: Brake Master Cylinder upgrade

I'd just get an adjustable one for the rear line.

As for the master. I know on the '64 Ford to '79 Tbird swap I've seen an F-250 disc master used. Once again, going through your old posts (please people I can't remember all your cars!post the year in the question!) I see your car is a '66. I'd hazard an educated guess that a '67 disc master would be a straight bolt on. Doesn't Scarebird have a recommendation based on the calipers they use? (GM) They seem pretty thorough so I'm sure they can help.

Here is a link to a 96 dodge van and a f250 Truck master cylinder for the swap. I used the F250 one on mine!
