Dash lights all funky

Has anyone had this problem before? After painting I reassembled my dash and replaced and tested all dash lights (tested fine). Now the dash lights don't come on and when I step on the brakes the turn signal lights on the dash turn on, they don't flash just turn on, and my front turn signal lights come on. My turn signals don't work when I switch them on. Does all that make sense? I checked my grounds and fuses and they seem to be fine. Any info would be great. I have to post some pics of my semi complete Galaxie. It turned out great. I'll save that for another thread

Re: Dash lights all funky

Sounds like something is crossed somewhere. I don't know much about the '67s. When I painted my gauge cluster in my 64 none of my dash lights in the cluster worked and I discovered that the housing is grounded by the screws that holds it in or at least partially. Sanded a little off in one of the indents for the screws and they worked fine. The only other thing I goofed on is I put the oil or gen light in the turn signal hole.

I agree on the ground.

I learned today that my GEN light definitely works, it's been on all week...
