64 rear quarter panel trim

Restoring a 64 fastback with XL trim. The rear quarter trim I beleive is comprised of two pieces, a 78" piece which is uniform and about 1 1/4 " wide, and a seperate 14" "spear" with an emblem in the center. I don't like the looks of the spear portion (breaks up the smooth lines of the car).

On the non XL cars is the last 14" replaced with a piece of trim that tapers to a point, or is it all one long piece. If it is not one long piece, where can I get those last sections. I can't recall seeing them in any catalog or on Ebay.

Re: 64 rear quarter panel trim

I just saw some on ebay, kinda new listing. Use 1964 galaxie trim for a search, it actually comes with the door and fender trim too for a 500. Now, from experience, use the clips that look like a ying yang with a little metal prop to keep it from turning, know what I mean? Use these all down the side instead of those fuqin rectangle things that pist me off more than held trim in place. If ordering a clip kit, you'll get half and half but someone selling clips will sell these seperate. Good luck, I'm trying to fit the rear bumper without chipping paint, not working for me on a humid 90 degree day so better luck tomorrow.
