My back door

I have a problem with the back door on my '62 Galaxie. It shuts fine but it doesn't quite latch. It's wierd because it does shut and latch but it's not tight and secure. It's like when someone says "hey your doors not shut" kind of latched. The door handle seems to work fine and it locks fine too.

Do I need to replace the latching the mechanism?

Thanks

Before doing ANYTHING. Lubricate everything. My Marauder was the same way. It was amazing what a bit of oil on the latches and bellcranks will do.

I tried lubricating the mechanism but it didn't help. This has happened intermittently and now constant with the cold weather. I am thinking moving the striker plate in will do it.

On the other hand it's starting and running great even the cold wet weather we've had. OOOHH no, jinxed myself for sure!
