Re: Help, -63 Egnition Cylinder and Bezel
Hey Dream
I just pulled one from a 63 the other day. I will warn you it is a pain in the a**. You are right, there is a spring, a rather large spring between the bezel and the switch. The Bezel has to be pushed toward the dash while pushing the switch from the rear of the dash toward the bezel. While doing this you have to turn the switch portion counterclockwise to release the 2 pins on the switch from the slots on the bezel's shaft. The pins fit tightly into the bexel and it is difficult to get it to turn. Be prepared for a lot of cussing. The bezel itself has 2 keyways that keep it aligned in the dash. If you dont keep pressure toward the dash the bezel can turn and scar the dash so be careful. You may find it easier to work with by removing the wiring harness from the back of the switch before attempting to remove the switch. this will heep the tortion of the wiring harness off the switch... and Dead is right, remove the tumbler first.
