Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

It is raining like hell up here, so I am on hold for everything.
Fabman: What do you think is the easiest way to remove that bracket?

Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

You could cut it off with a torch, die grinder/cut-off wheel or a saws-all.Leave 1" on each side of the bracket.I"ll trim it to fit my cross member.
Thanks

Cool Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

I just had a thought, since it is a convertible I wonder if I remove the well liner if the bracket would be accessible from the inside of the car? That would make my life easier

Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

Did that car have Disc brakes up front or drums. If it had drums I'd like to get the pressure differential valve from the braking system. It should be bolted to the frame under the firewall/front body mount area.
Thanks.
