Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

I have been searching around for someone with a torch, the steel is proving touch for my battery recip saw. I have not forgot you, the car is not going anywhere anytime soon, as I need the windshield outta it. Now is the time I really wish I had a plasma cutter

Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

All right did some checking the quickest cheapest easiest way to get the piece off will be a plasma cutter which I can rent for 60 bucks. I could get a big chop saw but would have to cut most of the well area up just to get it in there. I will get you the part, just would need rental fees, back, and I will take the shipping out of the rental fees. Let me know and I can have it off tomorrow morning

Re: parting out 68 Galaxie 500 Convertible

you know, it was in the 60's all week, now it is 95 and the house is hotter than hell. Here are the pics of the bracket, they came out pretty good. The rust should sandblast off. I figure on making the cut 2-3" out from the bracket on each side so you can use a chop saw to square it up
