Hey Mr GJ,
In times of yore, that was called a "dowry". The bride's father would give the future son-in-law an assortment of things to get him started in life with the daughter. It used to be a goat or two, a cow or three, and maybe a horse, or mule, complete with a plow. This was done in hopes that the new son-in-law would be able to provide for the daughter in a manner to which she had become accustomed. It also was kind of an indication of which direction the father wanted his daughter's husband to go in life. You might consider getting into Galaxie restoration, or maybe professional drag racing!

BTW, whatever you do, don't SELL the "dowry". That would be a faux pas of the worst sort.
