If you are thinking of the Mallory Unilite conversion kit, it is a good unit BUT.... The performance gains are great. I did the conversion in my 73 460 Ranchero. It worked well for about 3 years and then with no warning died. I had the points, condensor and rotor in the glove compartment, and changed it back to points right in the parking lot of Circuit City. It fired right up and ran well. When I checked on the cost of a new "eyeball" for the Unilite, it cost as much as the entire kit did in the first place.
As well as my Pertronix works in my Galaxie, the points, rotor and condensor reside in the glove compartment......just in case.
