Need opinions/help fast

I think a set of Torq Thrust Ds would look good on the old gal' rear wheels are a little wide for the power I have now but that is ok.

I found these wheels and was wondering if the offsets work on a '67 Galaxie? They came off of a 1970 Ford Torino.

2 Chrome Torq Thrust D 15 x 6 with Firestone Indy 500 P215/70R15,
2 Chrome Torq Thrust D 15 x 10 with Firestone Indy 500 P295/50R15.
These came off of a 1970 Ford Torino.

The price is too good to pass up.

If it's too good to pass up BUY THEM ALREADY

Good price as in you can get more if you sell them later? OR just good for now?

Re: Need opinions/help fast

I'm wondering about the 10 inch in the rear but back when i had 10" wheels I knew nothing of back spacing. I had 60 series tires instead of 50s which these days does that even exist anymore, that way of sizing or whatever? But anyway, I had narrower tires than the wheels called for and the tires would rub a little without air in my air shocks. The became white walls. But now, knowing about backspacing...maybe they would work well.

Still like FE, if the price is good for selling later if they don't work then go for it. You can always buy 2 more if the others don't fit and just sell the wider 2. At least that's what I would do.

Re: Need opinions/help fast

Well They just let me know they sold them to someone else

Here is a discussion:

Me: Do you know what the back spacing is? These would be going on a 1967 Ford Galaxie Fastback.

Her: 5 lug with 2 5/8 " between lugs, or 4 5/16" (long distance between lugs), I hope this is the information that your looking for. If not please let me know my husband will be back in a couple of hours.

Me:Nope, that is not the measurement I'm looking for. Your husband should know what the backspacing is, thanks for trying.

Her:sorry Michael, they have been sold.

I thought $500 was a good buy on them but they are gone now.

I got my Magnum 500's from Summit Racing. They had a good price for both the wheels and shipping plus fast delivery. Good Luck!!

Being as how you were looking for opinions, be glad you missed out on them. That is my opinion. Magnum 500's, Keystone Custom Classics, or Cragar S/S are all available thru Summit, they are reasonably priced, and will look GREAT on your Galaxie. They are era correct. New style wheels look ok on new style cars but classic cars need classic wheels. Chrome reverse with baby moons are cheap and look good too.

Dave, it depends on what you're building. I personally don't care for small rims or excessively large rims. I do like just about anything Coddington, American Racing, Foose,..and such build and believe they could look awesome on any year of Galaxie. A period correct resto would definetly not have any of these wheels on it, but turn it into a hot rod or a custom and magnums would be out of place.

It just goes back to what YOU are trying to do with YOUR car. If YOU like them, buy them and install them. You're the one that has to wake up in the morning, walk out to the garage, and say to yourself "Damn those wheels look awesome!" One man's castle is another man's shack. If it wasn't for all the different tastes do you think they would offer as many variations in designs and sizes? I don't think so either.

Your car is like your spouse, you hate it. Hahaha, just kidding! You're the only one that has to be happy with it. So enjoy and if your lucky your spouse will enjoy the car as much as you do. Good luck.

Re: Need opinions/help fast

Thanks for the words. The car is not ready for rims yet, but I had just sold a digital projector for a nice return on investment, I paid $10 for it and got $400 for it. As soon as the money was in hand I was looking on Craigslist to see what I could spend it on. It is for the best that they sold.
