Fan spacer

I put the radiatior in the galaxie (63.5 with 390) tonight and noticed that the fan was very close to the radiator. After looking a little longer I seen that the fan was actually hitting the long support rod that runs from the top to the bottom of the radiator. It has a 2 inch fan spacer on it now, I was just wondering what you guys are running for spacers?

You want at least .5" between the radiator and the fan. If you have a fan shroud you need to center the blades on the lip of the shroud

Re: Fan spacer

The orginal spacer was about 1/2" to 3/4". I'll check one at the shop tomorrow.

Re: Fan spacer

I checked today. The orginal spacer was 1". That was all big blocks without a fan clutch.
