Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
Iam definetly the Wheel anti-christ. I like the spokes. Turbines, to me, look like "Hey guys, grandma let me borrow her car. You want to go for a ride?" They look more OEM if that is the look you're after. The 5 spokes look more aggressive to me and I like aggressive.
As always, my opinion only matters to me but you asked.

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
My photo shop stinks but it still paints a good picture.
I agree with Gbeeler. I don't know how old you are but if you are looking for original I would go with the turbines.
If you want the car to stand out I would go with the spokes and white letter tires.

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
I 'm kindafunny about wheels, only a few I really like- on a 2 door galaxie, I'd always think the torque thrust D is the best looking style out there as long as its got a deep enough lip.
of the 2 pictured, : think the turbines look better, just because they appear a bit deeper...still without a 'lip' on it, just dont seem from the same time period as torq-thrusts or even chrome reversed...if youre not set for certain yet, theres some more 'modern' styles that will bolt up, and still have a decent offset and a polished lip-jeep grand cherokee wheels are the same bolt circle(I'm prety sure anyway) and the 'handling package crown vic/marquis 16x7 fits well too...I went with the 16x7's from a 98 marquis on our 65

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
in order of personal dislike:
Turbines
fake wirewheels/mesh (both cast as well as "hub caps" in front of chrome wheels)
Slots
Yes, I know a lot of guys Love them some Slots, I will admit some of the early Ansen(?) polished slots are not "that" bad, but If I never see another El Camino with slots on it again, I'll die a happy man.

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
Thanks guys now I'm torn again. :p If the turbines say classy that's ok for now, but if they also say old people / slow car that's not what I'm after. I'm 28 an drive a Grand Marquis which I like but still fight with the grandpa image sometimes.

Put a blower on it, and the grandpa image will be gone!

Don't let me or any of these other messages be your "test". We have all done what we could until we were able to do what we really wanted.
The 1st version of your car will most likely not be the last. As your tastes change, your life, marital status, friends - etc.... so will your car. I suggest you just do the what you can afford or whatever satisfies your desire to make your car a little more special for now, then take your time - save you your money and keep your eyes open for something better, different down the line.

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
How about the Summit or Weld "Star" wheels? Summit Racing has their house brand cheap. A set of 4 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rears cost me a tick over $400 clams.

Re: Turbines or 5-spokes (wheels)
Whayasay: Love the car. Looks clean and mean with those wheels and tires.
Mazlem: I think Summit only does 15" in those though maybe 16". So if you want larger you'll have to pony up the big bucks. Your car is on the visually large side of Galaxies. Bigger wheels would look good. The 65' and 66' are visually the smallest in my opinion and 15" and 16" wheels look really good on them. You're 28 and probably just establishing yourself financially, so don't do anything that you may have to repeat in a few years. Keep what you got for now and save up for what you want. Better to shell out only once than to take a deal now and shell out for what you really want in one to two years. I am 39 and speaking from experience. I've had 3 different wheel/tire combonations on my car in less than 3,000 miles and 4 years...and I currently want to change the combo I know have. Could have waited and done it right but was trying to do "Stop gap" purchasing. These aren't really what I want but they're better than what I have and I'll be happy with them. NOT! Wiseman learns from the mistakes of others and tries not to repeat them. I am/was a tire and wheel fool and I am trying to not lead you down the same path.
Let us know what you decide.
