Hey Gary,
Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes, something just hits a nerve!

BTW, you used the word "bastardization" when referring to the "fixing up" of a Galaxie. And I just wanted to say that the word "bastardization" actually refers to the act of replacement with parts of "unknown or questionable origin". I don't think that THAT is what you had in mind. What you later explained was that you didn't want to be putting "un-original" parts on the car.

Remember the Cadillac in the Johnny Cash song that was made up of all different year parts? Now THAT'S bastardization. I really doubt that you would put parts on your Golden Gal that you didn't KNOW what they were, or where they came from.

Also, Daze puts stuff on his vehicles like Jaguar IRSs, and Subaru Bucket Seats. THAT too is NOT "bastardization", because he KNOWs from whence came the IRS and SBSs. Also bastardization implies a "lowering of the quality due to the replacement with parts of unknown or questionable origin". I don't think that a Jag IRS "lowers" the quality of his vehicle. In fact, he's doing it to "UP-grade" the quality, at least in his considered opinion.

There is "restored", there is "modified", and there is "resto-mod". Each has it's own definition of "purism". Like Ms. American 3.14159 is well on her way to being "restored", while Lorrie Van Haul is well on her way to being "resto-mod-ed".

Remember, Murff said: "The beginning of wisdom is learning to call things by their proper names."

"To do is to be!" (Plato)
"To be is to do!" (Socrates)
"Do be do be do!" (Frank Sinatra)

Hope you are well.
