Re: Newbie with a question....or two. 63 1/2

Hey FE....can you give me a quick primer on how to post pictures? I'm not completely computer savvy, but with a few pointers can likely swing it. Thanks.

I'm not FE but I have one.

You can click on the little paper clip at the top of the window you post in and a seperate window will open that has 2 ways to get a photo. Upload one from your computer or put in a url from another site. If you upload from your computer, after you have done so you close the window and then click on the paper clip again and you will see it listed there. Just click on it to insert it. I think FE uses the little mountain icon but I never have.

Or you can go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and open a free account there, upload your pics and then it has a list of 4 different urls or codes you can copy the one you need. I think it's the 4th one I use that is for IMG. Just click on it and it automatically copies to your clipboard. Come to the window you are posting in and right click then paste the url in the window and wah-la when you submit the post or preview post you'll see the picture.

Re: Newbie with a question....or two. 63 1/2: wipers

I removed the "transmission arms" that connect the wiper motor to the individual wiper posts. Scott Drake has a bezel removal tool # T-120 that worked great. The bushing that is in the wiper motor end of the arm is brass...and these were quite worn and very oblong...they started out life round.

I drilled them out and installed two different sized brass tubing fittings...like we use for fuel or oil lines. The post on the wiper motor is stepped with a larger diameter on the bottom and smaller on the top. I was able to thread one fitting tightly into one arm, but the other I had to use silver solder to make it permanent. Then I cut off the parts that stuck out and filed them clean. The wiper posts end with a ball & socket, so I lubed that and the rotating parts of the individual wiper arms, gooped up the bushings, found a retaining clip (the original was long gone...I'm surprised the arms stayed on at all), and it works great. Thought I'd share & hope it might help someone else.
