Nice looking Galaxy.

What didja do with the skirts? are they available? Would they fit a '64 Mercury Monterey?

Re: Cragars on the 64

I like it better without the skirts. Plus skirts would probably look odd if you were ever able to get the back up like you want. I know I would like mine a little higher and have the same problem as you in that area.

I don't think I've seen a car with skirts that wasn't low to the ground and appear lower because of skirts.

According to the guy at Monroe these shocks fit a Granada, but he has nothing on '62 - '64 Galaxies. Where did you get your shocks installed and how did they determine the correct model number?
Hey Tyrus,
Some years ago, Goodyear had (and possibly still has) a line of shock absorbers for even the 1964 Galaxie "P" Code (which shock is DIFFERENT from a Standard Galaxie) called Goodyear "Classics". You might see if they still make those items.

BTW, the difference in the "P" Code and the Standard Galaxie, is that the Standard has a pin on one end, and an eye on the other. The "P" Code shock is EXACTLY the opposite. have an eye on one end, and a pin on the other. And you can't just install a Standard shock "up-side-down" because water collects in it.

Re: Cragars on the 64

I have the skirts on a shelf in my garage. I'm more Rat Fink than Pachuco.
