Wink 62 gal 460 swap complete

hey guys, just want to thank everyone for all the info on the 460 to galaxie swap.i know almost enything is possable with a torch and welder but seeing and hearing other people ideas really helped.tonight the wife and i took the gal down to are local cruise night at the high tide resteraunt in hillsboro NH.ther were 77 hot rods there.it was cool and i won a t shirt.any way this is how i did mine. 1977 460 c6 auto 76 fe truck mounts 8.80$ each, customized to catch third hole,2 and 1 half inch square tube cross member(fits in the truck tranny mount)with half inch plate extentions to catch c member frame ears.i had the short c6 so the drive shaft length was ok.swapped the 28 spline yoke for the 31 spline with a 353 offset u-joint.i did shve the finns off the tranny and customized the floor a little (bang/bang)came out nice.i used my 292 radiator with a flex fan,(ow very very very sharp)so i had to stuff the radiator into the support (custome rad mounts and shortend the shroud)still looks very stock. its running 190/200 today and it was 90 out.its fine idleing too.who know about a traffic jam?i'm running a stock air cleaner now but plan on building a cold air intke setup.stock manifolds with two and a half inch duels thru cherry bombs.b&m cheapy floor shift for the 4 speed look.delco remy one wire altinator(i know i'm a looser)and ford electronic ignition.so to the right person this swap isnt bad butt dont be in a hurry exspect to get cutt/burned/sor/stuff in your eyes/pistoff and tired.but you just gotta LOVE it cause you know what they say OLD FORDS NEVER DIE THEY JUST GO FASTER so thanks again this sight is great.jim

TPNP

THIS POST NEEDS PICTURES!!!!! I had a similar ordeal putting the 302 and T5 in my 62, but I have a lot lest get up and go to show for it I did a cold are input on mine by cutting the vents out of the radiator support on the battery side and then used an aluminum carb bonnet and modern EFI type air cleaner to get the fresh air to the motor. Did I mention TPNP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cole, happy to hear you got the 460 in and out hitting the cruises. Must be a good feeling to be past that bump in the road! Now for the next one sometime later huh? Whatever it may be.
