Progress update

Hello all!
Well, its been pretty slow right now on my Gal project with that nasty work thing getting in the way lol.
I picked up a roll of the foil covered bubble wrap from the builders supply and some contact adhesive so I can get the roof insulated before I put the headliner in. It should look like one of those NASA satellites inside when I get done! lol The headliner should be in next week so I can install it on my 7 days off. I'll also pull off the door panels and rear seat quarter panels and insulate those while I'm at it. I also plan on installing the XM antennea before the headliner so I don't have to fight those da** bows more than I have to.

I'm picking up another truck this weekend to replace the one I already have. My truck has the 390 I want to rebuild for the car, and the price is right on the other one....just don't ask for pictures of it lol. Both of the trucks came from Utah (rust buckets) but they work fine for hauling trash and what-not.
Ok...I'm off to sleep for a few hours.

Re: Progress update

There's nothing worse than work getting in the way of your project!!

I haven't heard of bubble wrap being used for insulation.
At least if you hear some popping going on in the middle of summer, then you'll know where it's coming from!

Re: Progress update

I used that foil backed bubble wrap on my floors. It worked very well as a sound deadener and insulation. In fact I recommend it for any one redoing there interior.

Talking Re: Progress update

I used the bubble/foil on the roof and doors, and Dynamax on the floors, as I'm going to run headers this time around. It's the same thing thats for sale from my supplier, but less money. I got all of that done yesterday. Today, I'm installing the console. I think this is about the most nerve wracking step, as the car was originally a column shift and cutting a 8" hole in the floor gives me the willies! LOL I've already mocked it up and I'm pretty sure it's going in the right place.

Nice thing about Ford, and I'm not sure if other manufacturers did it, is there are dimples on the floor pan for reference point for different optional equipment. There is markings for 4 speed set up as well. The wiring harness is the same way to allow for the different models options, such as a clock or tach...the plugs are already there!! It's just up to you to find the goodies LOL I'll get some more pics posted later today.
