Re: removing dash?

ok 1 down 1 to go!

i believe the one thats giving me the most trouble is the head light switch? its the knob right next to the ignition switch. looks like the fuse box/pannel is part of it.

What's the trick to this one?

appreciate all the help

Re: removing dash?

Not sure on your year but on a '64 you reach up behind there at the switch and find a little button you can push down and you can then pull the light switch knob and stem out. They you are able to remove the bezel by unscrewing. Yours might not be the same though.

Oh the little button is on top of the switch behind the dash there. I just had to feel around til I found something that would push down. Hope it's the same on yours. I also think it's another use a screwdriver, needle nose pliars etc to loosen the bezel.

Re: removing dash?

Got it out this weekend

you weren't kidding when you said they each come out differently, must have been a different employee designing each control knob?

Thanks everyone

now its time to start fixing/patching the rust

Re: removing dash?

Either that or they were trying to preserve after market jobs. LOL Glad to hear you got it.
So did it have a button on top or some other crazy thing?

Re: removing dash?

Yes there was a button on the fuse box. would have never figured that one out, lot easier to see with the dash most of the way out.

Can't wait to put it back in...NOT, i can tell once i get to that point i will need a lot of patience.
