Need a knob, anyone have an extra they want to sell?

I need a vent/air knob for a 64' 500 or 500XL. They might all be the same though. I need the chrome knob that attaches to the "Air" cable via a set screw. PM me or email me at gbeeler@bresnan.net. Thanks.

I have some knobs for a 61-62 I don't know if they are the same, but if you post a picture I can tell you if they are the same. If what I have will work for you I would be happy to give it to you, no charge. Always willing to help a neighbor out

I saw a really cool little thing you can do with them. I have some extra knobs but not the one with the set screw. I saw a guy cut his key down and slip it inside the knob. Looks, to the untrained eye, like you have a knob instead of a key to start your rig.

Found one! It's a Ford sketch, but it shows the shape. The sketch is of a lighter but the shape of the chrome knob isthe same.

I think I might have one but don't know for sure or how good of condition it is in. Haven't seen it in a couple years. I'll look and see.

Oh that would be kind of cool, and I think some of the ones I have, have a setscrew. I did something similar but different, I used an extra cable to relocate the passengers side vent knob to the passengers side of the car and then put the choke cable in the hole for the original vent location, make is all look factory and gives the passenger control of their fresh air.

Thanks Shotrod! Your picture is much better than mine. By the way, I wouldn't care what kinda shape it is in. I had one...until my father gave our parts car to my uncle to part out. I guess he already sold it...so he says. It was supposed to be a 50/50 deal. He sells the parts online (Ebay) and splits the cash with us. He decided that we GAVE him the car so we aren't going to see squat. Oh well, he needs the money more than we do.

Dazecars: That sounds like a cool idea too! None of my cars have a choke on the carbs let alone a cable but that would probably work pretty good.

I have a nob like that... I think... but the ones I have are black with a chrome tip.

I was thinking the '61- or at least the '62s had black on them but wasn't sure.
I'll check in a little bit and see if I got one still. Can't remember if I sold these on ebay or if i still have them.

Dazecars: Thanks for looking. I was pretty sure the 63 and 64 might have been the same. Older than that I was sure that they weren't.

Shotrod: I'd appreciate it. Trade you for the box of window felts I have packaged up for you....and haven't sent yet.

Just looked at my hardtop and a wiper knob would work also.

61 62 knobs are different. I'm cleaning my garage I think I have one. I'll look when I get home tonight.
