Hood Pins?

Where should hood pins be on a 63 with a teardrop hood?

Through the hood.

Actually I think they are a little beyond mid way on each side between the raised area and the outer edge. Wouldn't they be put in place where the hood stop pads are? Can't think of the proper name for those.

The last one I did we put them where the bumpers were. Then slid rubber hose on them to replace the bumpers.

I used the exact spot the hood bumpers strike the underneath of the hood. I actually used pins at first and added nuts and a rubber bumper over the top to get the hood to sit right. I have since moved on to locking hood pins and I am using the same exact location. I did have to make a quite large hole in the underneath side of the hood to be able to get the backing plate and nut up there. Hope this helps.
