Question Radiator question

I have a '65 Galaxie Convertible with a 390 3-speed cruise-o-matic. I need to replace the radiator and went to NAPA and asked to order one. They showed no listing for a '65 with the 390 and did not show any until a '68. Will it still fit. Sorry if this is a stupid question,I'm still learning. Thanks for any help.

You went to the wrong NAPA! There are some guys that look in the book or logon to the computer, figure if it ain't there - then it don't exist. Then there are some shops that figure, if you show me the part or have a valid part number - it must exist, or existed at one time. You want the second guy! It may take some time or a little extra effort to find older car parts, but they are out there.

Crites is one place, but even better (for now and the future), if you are going to drive an older car, you really need to do some of the research, before going down to the car parts store. Assume the counter guy is lazy - and you'll seldom be disappointed. Better yet, order a few catalogs from places like Dennis Carpenter, Auto Krafters, Concours parts, Dearborn - there are a lot of them out there now. The above mentioned catalog stores specialize in old Fords. they may not have every part, but they have most of the maintenance parts that you are likely to need to keep it running.

Thumbs up Re: Radiator question

Here is a good set of websites to look things up on. Not all of them but a goo start.
